Hi, I'm Selin!

I'm currently a third-year social psychology Ph.D. student at Washington University in St. Louis. I'll be starting my fourth year at Rutgers University.

My research focuses on stereotypes and prejudice, especially when it comes to racial/ethnic and nationality groups. I use an experimental approach to study the far-reaching effects of stereotypes, including dehumanization and sense of belonging.

My work is supervised by Dr. Calvin Lai. Previously, I received a B.A. in Psychology, and minors in International Relations and Statistics from the University of Rochester, where I studied social stress and intergroup relations with Dr. Jeremy Jamieson and Dr. Jon Gordils.
